12. Blog Teaser - Auto-Populated From Your Posts (Optional)

2 - Home Page

About this section

The conversion moment: They've read everything but aren't ready to book. Without additional engagement options, they leave forever. Blog teaser gives browsers who need more time something valuable to explore—demonstrating your expertise before they commit.

The data: Active blogs increase consultation requests by 67% (Blog Performance Research, 2024). Why? Visitors read helpful content, think "this person gets it," and book. Blog posts work 24/7, bringing organic traffic long after publishing.

What you're building: Nothing yet. This section auto-populates from blog posts you'll create in Blog Module. You're just learning what it does and deciding whether to include it.

Critical upfront: Blog teaser is optional. Include if you'll blog at least quarterly (4+ posts/year), want SEO traffic, or enjoy writing. Skip if you won't maintain blog regularly, prefer minimal homepage, or already have full caseload.

How Blog Teaser Works

Auto-population: When you publish blog posts (taught in Blog Module), this homepage section automatically displays your most recent posts. You write blog content once; it appears here automatically. No manual updating.

What displays: Post title, excerpt (first 150 characters), featured image (if included), and "Read More" link. Posts update automatically as you publish new content.

Template settings you'll configure:

  • Turn blog teaser on/off entirely
  • How many posts display (2-3 recommended)
  • Show full posts or excerpts only
  • Display publish dates or hide them
  • Section headline ("Recent Posts," "From the Blog," "Latest Articles")

Standard configuration: 3 most recent posts, excerpt only, dates shown, headline "Recent Posts"

Getting Started: Minimum Requirements

Before enabling blog teaser: Publish minimum 3-5 blog posts. Showing only 1-2 posts looks empty and signals inactive practice. Write several posts first, then enable teaser section.

What you're getting: 6 professionally-written starter articles (customizable in 3 minutes each) plus blog templates. Total: 6 posts ready to customize and publish. Complete blog strategy and writing guidance taught in Blog Module.

Update frequency expectations: If showing "Recent Posts" with dates, blog at least quarterly (4 posts/year minimum). Last post from 6+ months ago signals abandoned practice. Alternative: Use "Popular Posts" instead of "Recent Posts" (hides dates, shows evergreen content).

Should You Include Blog Teaser?

Include if:

  • You'll blog quarterly minimum (4+ posts/year)
  • You want SEO traffic from search terms
  • You enjoy writing or teaching through content
  • You need ways to demonstrate expertise before booking
  • You have time for content creation

Skip if:

  • You won't maintain blog regularly (posting under 4x/year)
  • You prefer minimal, streamlined homepage
  • Already full with clients, don't need more traffic
  • Blogging feels overwhelming or unsustainable
  • You'd rather focus solely on clinical work

Decision: Both are valid. Blog teaser increases conversion but requires ongoing commitment. Many successful practices skip blogging entirely.
