The rule: Mini bio = 1-2 sentences. About page = full story. Different jobs. Different lengths.

DO THIS NOW: Build Your Mini Bio (8 Minutes)

Step 1: Distill your story (3 minutes)

Pull up your About page. Identify three core elements:

  1. Your key experience or insight (the ONE thing that drives why you practice this way)
  2. Who you help (specific client type)
  3. What they get (transformation worth the investment)

Everything else goes to your About page.

The compression formula:

Sentence 1: [Your experience] + [what that taught you about what DOESN'T work]

Sentence 2: Now I help [specific client] [get specific outcome] because [emotional connection]

Target: 25-40 words total.

The elimination test: For every detail, ask: "Does this directly justify the $220 investment?" If no, cut it.

Step 2: Translate your credentials (2 minutes)

Your About page lists everything. Here, you're showing: [License] + [Key approach] + [what that delivers for clients]

One line. Under 20 words.

Examples:

"LCSW specializing in ACT—an approach focused on building capacity and taking action, not just managing symptoms"

"Licensed therapist trained in EMDR and somatic approaches that process trauma without retraumatization"

Write yours. One line showing credential + outcome.

Step 3: Choose your photo (30 seconds)

You need a professional photo. Someone just saw a price—they need to see your face before committing money.

What works: Professional but warm, genuine expression, good lighting, recent (within 2 years), clear background.

The test: Would someone who just saw $220 look at this and feel MORE confident booking? If yes, use it. If no, get a new photo.

Step 4: Add About page link (30 seconds)

Below your bio, add: "See my full background and approach →" or "Learn more about how I work →"

This invites detail-seekers to verify the investment and signals transparency.

3 Deadly Mistakes

❌ Writing a paragraph instead of 1-2 sentences

Show what those credentials deliver for clients, not just alphabet soup.
